Another early morning sunrise in the desert which we view from atop one of the high points in the vicinity of our campsite. It is amazing how quickly the desert changes colours, and how the features of the Wahiba Sands alter with the changing light. On our drive across the desert we will encounter a unique array of flora and fauna in the undulating red and white sand dunes. The Wahiba is the home to a few thousand Bedouins who are known to
have inhabited this inhospitable region for at least 7000 years. , we visit the Bedouin house and share a coffee with them and buy handmade souvenir
Later we drive to Wadi Bani khalid, this is considered one of the most beautiful wadi’s in Oman. The drive to Wadi Bani Khalid is through the Eastern Hajar Mountains, which offers a panoramic view of landscape below. We pass many pretty villages embedded in the mountains. Here the road winds down to the wadi along side a large, shallow pool fringed with vegetation and ends at a village. We park our vehicles at this point and continue on a short trek to the deep blue pools of the wadi. Enjoy a swim in this glorious grace of nature.
